While the district hosts a bustling workforce during the week, a different energy unfolds on weekends. Within the confines of industrial warehouses, diverse faith communities find spiritual solace in an unlikely setting. Behind closed doors and unnoticed by the rest of the city, the plain halls of Temple Road come to life for prayers, weddings and community activities. Side by side, various independent churches and cultural associations coexist between repair shops, office buildings and one of Germany's biggest meat producing factories. While the institutionalized churches are ever-present in the urban landscape, these small communities remain hidden and among themselves.
